Current Shows & Events

starheART theatre are performing Andrew Bovell's 'AFTER DINNER' as part of the 2017 Adelaide Fringe Festival. February 23, 24, 25 & 26.

A Friday night in a pub finds office workers Dympie, Paula and Monika seeking a good night out. At an adjoining table are Gordon, recently abandoned by his wife, and Stephen, looking for something more than the usual one night stand. As the night proceeds, inhibitions disappear, which comedically reveals the characters' lives. Australian playwright Andrew Bovell's 'After Dinner' is one that should not be missed! This comedy will have you laughing long after you leave the theatre! Although the characters are all in their mid thirties, starheART theatre fell in love with the play and wanted to give it a go with younger actors. We hope we succeed in entertaining you for the night! This is an amateur production. Performance rights for AFTER DINNER by Andrew Bovell exclusively licensed by HLA Management Pty Ltd, P.O. Box 1536, Strawberry Hills NSW 2012 (hla@hlamgt.com.au).

Previous Events

'THE BOYS' by Gordon Graham at the 2016 Adelaide Fringe Festival.

starheART theatre's very first show as an ensemble was Gordon Graham's 'THE BOYS'. The cast performed in the ibis Hotel Adelaide, March 11, 12 and 13. A sell out season and 4/5 star review was considered an incredible success by the group. Gordon Graham's 'The Boys' is the story of three Australian brothers who commit a crime and the effect it has on the women in their lives. The brutal and disturbing murder of a young woman forces central characters Michelle, Jackie, Nola and Sandra to question their positions with the boys and if they could be truly capable of committing the horrific crime. This is a powerful play that forces the audience to question society while they are presented with the issue of violence against women and the treatment of these victims by the community. This play also explores the idea of being born into violence and if it is possible to break out of the cycle.

'THE BOYS' by Gordon Graham at the 2016 Melbourne Fringe Festival.

After a success at the Adelaide Fringe, starheART theatre toured 'THE BOYS' to the Melbourne Fringe. They performed at Wick Studios in Brunswick on the 23rd, 24th and 25th of September 2016. This was their very first time touring as an ensemble.

ADELAIDE FRINGE PARADE 2016 & 2017

In both 2016 and 2017, starheART theatre performed in the annual Adelaide Fringe Parade which runs along North Terrace.
